Intelligent Light and FieldView

Digital Engineering tags FieldView 16.1 as the Pick of the Week

Digital Engineering Magazine Editor at Large Tony Lockwood has selected our FieldView 16.1 Update as his Pick of the Week.

"The line on FieldView is that it's fast, easy to implement and easy to use," he says. "It works with data from leading CFD systems. It can handle huge data sets and scale from workstations to HPC (high-performance computing) resources. It helps you capture best practices and create CFD workflows that make your processes more efficient, friendly and productive."

Desktop Engineering features Intelligent Light cloud success in article: CFD in the Cloud

Desktop Engineering took their first in-depth look at cloud computing for engineering. Many organizations are now using or considering cloud systems for simulation but few applications are well suited. CFD is a particular challenge due to its complexity and data size.

The article shows how Intelligent Light has been successfully using Cloud Computing, describes customer benefits, and highlights two case studies. Matthew N. Godo, Ph. D., FieldView product manager has been using cloud resources to continue his multi-year study into CFD workflow and the study of bicycle wheel aerodynamics.

FieldView Helps Launch a SmartFish

Desktop Engineering published an article (Jan 2009) featuring the use of FieldView CFD Smartfishpost-processing in the development of a new aircraft concept in development by a small but creative team who's simulation tools are allowing them to develop an aircraft using ingenuity, creativity, and readily available CFD simulation tools.

"...an automated process can produce simulations and results of more than 100 different design variations overnight.”- Koni Schafroth, CEO, Team SmartFish

Schafroth credits FieldView’s ease of use and visualization capabilities with providing the team an advantage in getting more information in less time.

FieldView’s user interface is intuitive enough that I can go without using the tool for several weeks and then come back and pick up right where I left off using restart files with new or existing data.”- Koni Schafroth, CEO, Team SmartFish
