Case Study: Slash data size for huge productivity gains
FieldView 13's powerful XDB-based workflow enables analysts to reduce data size, leverage remote HPC systems, and achieve dramatic performance and productivity gains. This case study outlines how transient data was post-processed remotely, generating solutions that were then reduced by a factor of 286 -- from 36.4GB to 127.5MB -- and interactively explored in a streamlined CFD workflow that could change the way you do business.

Applied Research: Detecting and tracking flow features
Intelligent Light is developing a new post-processing system named "Intelligent Feature Detection and Tracking." The system allows researchers to interactively select flow features such as vortices, track the feature in time, and get statistical output, all from FieldView 13 and while the solver is running. Further, the system can be trained to automatically identify candidate features to track. The research is funded by AFOSR through a Phase II STTR in collaboration with UC Davis Professor Kwan-Liu Ma, DOE SciDAC Institute for Ultra-Scale Visualization. This advanced research will lead to end-user tools that will enhance the value of large-scale transient CFD simulations.
